Event Title: Launch of The State of the Humanitarian System 2018 Report

Event Date: May 15th, 2019

The ALNAP Secretariat is pleased to invite you to the launch of The State of the Humanitarian System 2018 Report on May 15th, 2019 at the World Vision East Africa Office in Karen, Nairobi from 0830-1200.

The 4th edition of The State of the Humanitarian System (SOHS) covers a period during which the geopolitical landscape has changed, with powerful effects on the context and practices of humanitarian action. Irregular migration, epidemics and conflict have stretched the capacity of the humanitarian system and are reshaping the relationships not only within it, but also with development actors, governments and civil society organisations amongst others.

Join us for a discussion that will look at what has shaped the humanitarian landscape since 2015 and the challenges to be faced going forward.

The SOHS report looks at how the system performed from 2015 to 2017. It outlines humanitarian needs in the period, provides an overview of the resources that were available to address these needs, describes the current size and structure of the humanitarian system and presents an assessment of performance of the system in addressing these needs.

The tentative agenda will be:

0830-0900 Arrival & Registration
0930-0945 Opening Remarks
0945-1030 Panel on State of the Humanitarian System (panelists to be advised)
